Woodhouse's Toad

Description
2 1/2-5". Large toad with light stripe down middle of back. Prominent cranial crests contact elongate parotoids. Yellow to green to brown.
Voice
Like the bleat of a sheep with a cold. Males call while sitting in quiet water.
Breeding
March to August. Eggs strings are attached to vegetation in shallow water.
Habitat
Sandy areas near marshes,irrigation ditches, backyards, and temporary rain pools

Other
Primarily nocturnal; It is the toad commonly seen catching insects beneath lights, Occasionally it is active during the day, but more frequently remains in its burrow or hides in vegetation
